***2023 Box Elder Bear Homecoming Pep Assembly*** Today at 1pm we will have our Vegas Homecoming Pep Assembly in the gym at 1pm. We will end the assembly with a staff vs student dodgeball game! Come on in!

Next week is MEA Days and we only have school Monday & Tuesday and a half day (1pm dismissal) Wednesday. Thursday & Friday there is no school for teacher trainings. The following week is Red Ribbon Week. Be sure to dress the part!

Attention all Box Elder Bear families & community: Next week on Thursday, September 28, 2023 we will hold a Pow Wow in our school gym from 2pm-3:15pm. If you would like your child(ren) to dance, we are encouraging students to bring and wear their regalia - although they do not need to wear regalia to participate. On that day, we will keep the kindergarteners at school until the 3:30 dismissal so that they can participate as well. We are looking forward to a week full of exciting events to celebrate Native American Week! There will be no school Friday, September 29!

BIG NEWS for one of our Box Elder Bears: Tomorrow Morning Alyssa Dubois’s photo will be representing the National Down Syndrome Society, at the New York Buddy Walk. The video will run from 7:30-8:30 am, our time. Be sure to “like” NDSS on Facebook to watch live. Following the live event, there will be a link in which a digital video copy of the Times Square Video can be purchased. (copied from press release): Her photo will appear in the bright lights of Broadway as part of the annual National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) Times Square Video presentation. The one-hour video of roughly 500 photographs includes children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome from all 50 states. These collective images promote the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with Down syndrome in a very visible way. Alyssa was selected from more than 2,400 entries in the NDSS worldwide call for photos. Her photo will be shown on two JumboTron screens in the heart of Times Square, thanks to the support of ClearChannel Outdoor. The two screens are located above Dos Caminos restaurant in Father Duffy Square. The presentation will be live streamed on the NDSS Facebook page from 9:30-10:30am ET on September 9. The Times Square Video presentation kicks off the New York City Buddy Walk® at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. Congrats Alyssa! Attention all students and parents who completed a 21st Century After-School Activities form - activities will start next week! If you returned a signed permission slip, your child(ren) will begin their activities after school next week and ride the 5:00 bus home. We will have new activities every month. Looking forward to a great year of activities!

Juniors and Seniors who have registered to go to the College and Career Fair at MSU-Northern on Monday, be sure to bring your permission slips back. Bus will leave at 11sharp!
